Dough
7.9.15So since I now live in New York where there are bakeries on every other corner, I decided to challenge myself.
Challenge yourself to what you ask?
Oh it's to find the best donut in New York City.
So I started out my quest to find the greatest donut and ended up at Dough, right off of W 19th and 5th Ave.
As I walked into the wooden doors, I almost ran into the last person in line. The line was about 15 people deep. I thought to myself "Wow, this place must be good if there is a line for donuts at 3pm". I tried to get a peek at the display case that was stocked with so.many.donuts. However, only being around 5' tall, that was kinda tricky because a very tall man was in front of me. Once I got close to the counter, one donut in particular caught my eye.
MOCHA ALMOND CRUNCH
It sounded and looked like the perfect combination of crunch and chocolate. So I had no other option than to order that perfect donut. However, I think I may have to also try the salted caramel chocolate on my next visit...
After I received my donut, I headed to Union Square to enjoy a beautiful donut on a beautiful day.
My oh my... this donut completed my soul. It was so fluffy and had the perfect amount of glaze and crunchy topping. The little bit of brown sugar and cinnamon in the almond crunch topping went perfectly with the chocolate glaze. And this donut was just slightly smaller than my head. The bigger the better.
I can't wait to go back to Dough because they make a darn good donut.
I may just have to go back this week...
